I thought
A pure soul can conquer all
From what’s great to what’s small,
That it can spread an ounce of light
In what is wrong and never right.
I thought
Through hard work one can succeed
And plant in every heart a seed
Of knowing life, the way we are,
To rise to stars into the far.
I thought
I’ll find someday a heart like mine
To mirror all that is sublime,
In our corner full of peace
To feel the power of a kiss.
I thought
I’d find the way to heaven
By means of power of the seven,
Transcending life and maybe death
With a master’s sacred bless.
I know
Childish were my thoughts
And much too few my pure oughts;
There’s a truth in every dream of man
When dreamed again, again, again…
