One day while mirroring the waves
She saw a pale of smoke, she gazed -
She looked at it like hypnotized;
After a while exclaimed surprised:
She knew that shape, it was a ship!
But all was different in its built -
No vails, no mast, just the pale smoke;
How can such little marvel work?
Look how it breakes in flight the waves -
Trills of amaze in its form raves;
Closer it comes stranger its looks -
Must be the new, and how it hooks...
Would her old captain sail such boat,
Tried to believe, believed her not,
Though she was hoping he would come -
The hope was there, at least its crumbs.
She saw the kids running on shores,
The parents left in rush the chores -
There's hope for them, a feel of joy,
Stranded by sorrow in decoy.
The children have seen the ship too,
They started jumping, then she knew -
She’ll be alone under the stars!
Resigned she stared into the fars.
A fire started on the sands -
A signal for the far commands;
The ship has seen as well the smoke,
Some lights in far somehow awoke.
A boat approaches the old land,
Greetings exchanged, the boat remand,
Others came, in light of fires
People talked nonsense for hours...
Another two days all gone -
The children, the couple; alone…
She watched the boat in its waved trip
Until it reached that wonder-ship.
It felt so empty and so old,
It felt the wind, no way to hold -
Her time was gone, and gone will be,
Alone to mirror now the sea.
