One year fast gone until a boat
Came again, sooner than she thought,
She knew those faces, it were them -
The couple and the children came!
They dwelt inside for a few sleeps
Then left, and come in summer weeks;
From trip to trip they were all changed
Though they felt home, never estranged.
The old-young captain seemed the same
Into the sun, into the rain,
Sometimes he cursed, he loved her well
Those times her life was going swell.
One morning came, no voice she heard;
The captain lying in his bed -
She listened long, and then she knew
The captain’s gone, empty anew…
He looked so peaceful in his sleep
She loved him, started then to weep -
Now is he gone! She felt sorrow,
Wished it never be tomorrow!
Tomorrow came, a sunny day,
Until a dark storm found its way -
Lightening, covering the sky,
Some of the strokes nearly fly...
It felt a burst, she heard a sound
A flash of light her heart has found,
The fire burst into the rain -
The wood starts burning in a flame.
She heard the sounds of dying wood
She felt no pain even if should,
Relieved embraced with love the flame -
Will be with him into the grave;
Sunk deep into a fairy dream
She was a ship, she was with him,
They sailed in sky between the stars -
From north to south between the fars.
The storm was gone, the house as well,
Some years late no one could tell
That two old souls have lived right there,
Except this story that I share.
