In light of storm she seems a ghost;
She knew of a land for long lost,
It must be there, in fog, she’d swore -
Just a few miles, or maybe more…
Reaching for waves as they pass forth,
Drifting to south or maybe north -
She got some holes, she lost a trunk,
For sake of man, she would not sunk!...
She’s blind, there’s nothing to see -
Just waves, bigger than saw on sea;
Moves with the flow, she feels the hits -
Her hope diminished bits by bits.
She sees something into the far -
A long tail of land, mountains’ tar,
A few more miles, so far it looks -
So close, she’s left in mirage-hooks.
She felt a bruise into her tail
Another one, as far can tell,
The more progress the more the pain -
She has to reach the shores, insane!
The bruises - hundreds multiply,
Bigger the pain, she thinks she’ll die -
A sudden blow and senses lost,
Now it become a senseless ghost.
The heat, she feels an intense light -
Am I in hell, or is daylight?
Her wounds, tries to feel the damage.
Feels the sand under its wreckage.
The warmish water fills her holes
It’s sweet and clear, how it strolls!
She looks around, the green, the blue,
The nature’s sounds, the birds, one shoe…
Not far from sea the couple lies
Under a tree of narrow size;
Are they asleep or have they died?
That thought was burning from inside…
She counts her wounds, maybe too few -
She’ll never sail, that’s all she knew!
Resigned she fell late into sleep,
In sorrow caressed by waves’ weep.
